Insight into bacterial soil microbiome after 178-years of wheat cultivation with mineral and organic fertilization

Insight into bacterial soil microbiome after 178 years of wheat monoculture cultivation was evaluated in Broadbalk experiment within the treatments that are as follows: 1) mineral fertilization, 2) mineral fertilization with manure application, 3) manure application without mineral fertilization, 4) control without mineral fertilization and manure application and also as compared to 5) grassland monoculture. The greatest differences in the diversity and functionality of the soil microorganisms were noted depending on the treatment.
