Calculate gene editing efficiency by next-generation sequencing

Engineering disease-resistant plants is a powerful solution to the food security issue. This solution requires addressing what genes to express and how to control their expression. Here we perform a CRISPR screening of upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in rice and simultaneously address these two fundamental questions.In order to calculate gene editing efficiency, we performed next-generation sequencing of 14 candidate genes.
