It can be preserved via vacuum freeze-drying. Colonies are floccose, either loose or dense, white at first and gradually turn brownish gray to dark brown with age. Stoloniferous hyphae creep and spread over long distances, and are colorless. Rhizoids are well-developed and brown in color. Sporangiophores are erect or curved, brown, with smooth or roughened walls. Sporangia are spherical, initially white, turn black as they mature, and their walls are covered with minute spines. Columellae are spherical and pale brown. Sporangiospores are subspherical, yellowish gray, with striations and angular edges. This strain produces L(+) lactic acid.
