We see to explore the crystal structure HRE1-xLRExMn2 (HRE = Gd, Dy, Ho; LRE = Pr, Nd; x = 0.25, 0.50, 0.75) in situ at high temperatures using X-ray diffraction (XRD). We have observed that certain HRE1-xLRExMn2 compounds can undergo a phase transition from a cubic to a hexagonal Laves phase upon heat treatment. We want to capture this transition in situ, and investigate the effect upon cycling of the heat treatment.
