THE IMPACT OF DIGITAL MEDIA ON VOCABULARY ACQUISITION IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING
收藏资源简介:
In recent years, digital media has become a dominant force in language learning, significantly influencing vocabulary acquisition in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) contexts. This study investigates how various forms of digital media—such as social media, mobile applications, online videos, and digital games—affect the process of vocabulary learning among English language learners. Using a mixed-methods approach, the research analyzes both qualitative and quantitative data collected from learners’ interactions with digital platforms. The findings reveal that digital media enhances vocabulary acquisition through increased exposure, contextual learning, multimodal input, and learner engagement. However, challenges such as superficial learning, distraction, and inconsistent language input are also identified. The study concludes that while digital media offers powerful tools for vocabulary development, its effectiveness depends on structured and guided use.
