Irish Health Survey (IHS), 2025

The Irish Health Survey is a voluntary survey which is conducted annually. In Irish law, it is carried out under Section 24 of the Statistics Act, 1993, which allows the Central Statistics Office to invite people to provide information on a voluntary basis. The 2025 wave of the survey was conducted as part of the European Health Interview Survey (EHIS) under the provisions of European Union regulations 2019/1700, 2023/2529, and 2024/297. The survey provides reliable data on health status, access to health care, and health determinants to inform and evaluate health policies. It also allows for health comparisons to be made across Europe in the relevant regulation years. Differences in data collection methods and timings should be considered when making direct comparisons between results in 2025 and results in 2024, 2019 and 2015.
