Bio-Pesticides DataBase
Biopesticides are crop protection products derived from natural sources, and include naturally occurring chemicals, pheromones, bacteria, fungi and insect predators. Whilst in many instances the environmental risks of these substances are considered to be less than those of chemical pesticides, this isn't always the case. However, the data needed to support risk assessments for biopesticides is scarce and held at a multitude of locations, so the BioPesticide DataBase (BPDB) from the Agriculture & Environment Research Unit (AERU) at the University of Hertfordshire provides a comprehensive relational database for these substances covering their environmental fate, ecotoxicology and human health implications.
