We utilized Restriction site Associated DNA Sequencing (RADseq) technique to genotype individuals from three Esox lucius populations from Baltic Sea. The resulting single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) data were utilized to uncover genetic structure of the populations. The study populations have been found to exhibit local adaptations that exhibit themselves as phenotypical variations. The SNP data were also utilized to search for genes under selection that are putatively responsible for adaptation to different environmental variables. Lastly, the data was used to assess relative performance of microsatellite and RADseq markers.
