The micrograph is an important basis for geological research and big data is becoming a new engine of scientific discovery. Earth science big data is the most powerful form in geoscience. According to collecting samples, slice identification and micrograph, a dataset of Middle Jurassic clastic rock in the northeastern Ordos Basin were analyzed. It consists of 208 micrographs of 78 samples in total, with x4 and x10 magnification. Most of that are lithic sandstone, and little is fine grained sandstone. Basal cement, point-line contact and ordinary round and sorting. The quartz consists largely of single-crystal quartz, the feldspar is primarily microcline and plagioclase. Debris is mostly clay and siliceous debris, followed by metamorphic debris. The micrograph feature can indicate the mineralogy and sedimentary formation in the study area. The dataset has value in the correlational studies. It is helpful to find the relationship between various geological factors concealed in geological big data, and then to identify the scientific significance on such a basis.
