Cell-cell interactions are sensed by the partner species and lead to phenotypic adaptations that affect key functions such as growth, virulence or mixed-species biofilm formation. This study aimed to explore the impact of coaggregation between S. gordonii and V. parvula in human saliva on the gene expression in each partner. Understanding responses to coaggregation will provide important insights into how these species adapt as they interact with one another during the formation of oral biofilms
