Policy Expectations and Support for Agricultural Emissions Trading

This repository contains the data and Stata do-file supporting the study titled “Policy Expectations and Support for Agricultural Emissions Trading.” The anonymised dataset comprises usable survey responses from 219 Irish dairy farmers. It includes information on farmers’ willingness to support a proposed agricultural emissions cap-and-trade scheme, experimentally varied permit-price levels, expected roles within the trading scheme, expectations regarding future agricultural and climate policies, climate-change attitudes, opinions associated with farmer protests, farm characteristics, and selected farmer demographics. We removed direct personal identifiers to protect respondents’ confidentiality. The accompanying Stata do-file contains the commands used to prepare and analyse the data and reproduce the study’s principal results. These analyses include descriptive statistics, probit estimations, average marginal effects with 95% confidence intervals, model-fit statistics, and sensitivity analyses examining the influence of potentially influential observations. These files support transparency, verification, and reproducibility. Users of these materials should cite both the published article and the corresponding Zenodo record.
