This study tested the effectiveness of two potential restoration methods: 1) the addition of silicate rock powder (SRP) to increase soil pH and replenish soil minerals to improve the microarthropod habitat and 2) soil inoculation from a donor site with higher microarthropod species richness to enrich the microarthropod community itself. A full factorial experiment in five forest sites was established, combining three rock powder treatments (control, Eifelgold and Soilfeed) with two inoculation treatments (inoculated, null).
