Rostrum development in weevils. Sitophilus oryzae and Dendroctonus ponderosae

Transcriptomes were produced from pharate pupal (prepupal) heads of the rice weevil and mountain pine beetle, the former with a rostrum and the latter having lost it, in order to determine the genes involved in rostrum formation.
