CoDOn benchmarking datasets and codon-optimized sequences

Datasets generated and analyzed in the article 'Codon Design Online (CoDOn): a comprehensive web application of synthetic gene design with multi-criteria and multi-parameters for heterologous expression' (BMC Bioinformatics, 2026; doi:10.1186/s12859-026-06606-w). This repository archives the benchmarking data only and does not contain the CoDOn source code. v1.2.1 updates the article citation following publication: the published DOI was added to README.md and CITATION.cff and the 'under review' wording was removed. The data files (Supplementary_Data_S1/S2/S3.xlsx and the FASTA exports) are byte-for-byte unchanged from v1.2.0.
