Nijmegen Coinage 450–1200 CE: The Numismagus Dataset [Dataset]

The Numismagus Dataset comprises 97 single coins dating from 450 to 1200 CE recovered within the municipal boundaries of Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Compiled through citizen science, it integrates verified records from the NUMIS database of De Nederlandsche Bank, archaeological excavation reports, and published literature. Coins are classified into five successive 150-year chronological phases and grouped by issuer groups: Byzantine, Merovingian, Anglo-Frisian, Carolingian, Holy Roman, Episcopal, and others. The dataset is limited to single coins (stray finds and excavation coins); coin hoards are excluded.
