NRS-12763 | Structural engineering plans from Ove Arup and Partners

This series comprises shop drawings/plans prepared by the following construction companies, Westside Detailing Services P/L (a subsidiary of J.W. Broomhead and Sons P/L), E.P.M. Concrete P/L and Arcos Industries. They relate to glass walls and concrete slabs used in during the construction of the Sydney Opera House.The plans formed part of the structural engineering records of Ove Arup and Partners, who were retained by the Department of Public Works as Consulting Engineers for the Sydney Opera House Project. Ove Arup and Partners were engaged by Mr. Jørn Utzon, Architect, in London, and were the only consultants who were involved in all stages of the Opera House Construction. The plans were transferred to the Department of Public Works by Ove Arup and Partners.The plans are indexed in card index available in the Western Sydney Reading Room.
