Preventing zoonotic spillover at agricultural frontiers: Systematic review data and extended data

This dataset accompanies the systematic review "Preventing Zoonotic Spillover at Agricultural Frontiers: A Systematic Review of Geospatial Surveillance, Predictive Risk Mapping, and Biosecurity Implementation" (Orno et al., submitted to F1000Research). The review follows PRISMA 2020 and PRISMA-S and synthesizes 59 primary studies on how zoonotic spillover at agricultural frontiers is detected, predicted and prevented, and whether published studies connect these steps. The deposit contains five files: 1. Extended_data_Tables_S1-S10.xlsx – Extended data Tables S1–S10: characteristics of the included studies (S1); detection, prediction and prevention data for each study (S2–S4); reports excluded at full text, with reasons (S5); quality appraisal of each included study (S6); agreement between reviewers at each stage (S7); search validation against a benchmark set (S8); the GRADE-CERQual evidence profile for each review finding (S9); and prevention records excluded at title and abstract with their rationale (S10).2. Extended_data_Search_strategies.docx – Full search strategies for Scopus and PubMed/MEDLINE, search dates, limits, deduplication, citation searching and search validation.3. Extended_data_Extraction_form_and_appraisal_checklists.docx – Data extraction form with controlled vocabularies, the ODMAP-based modeling checklist and the MMAT 2018 items.4. PRISMA2020_checklist.xlsx – Completed PRISMA 2020 checklist with the manuscript location of each item.5. Fig1_PRISMA2020_flow.pdf – PRISMA 2020 flow diagram of study selection. Searches were run in Scopus and PubMed/MEDLINE on 24 September 2026, with backward and forward citation searching in OpenAlex on 25 September 2026.
