资源简介:
Stony Coral Tissue Loss Disease (SCTLD) is the most lethal coral disease ever recorded, resulting in mortality rates >90% in some species. This phenomenon underscores the urgent need to understand the mechanisms that could promote natural recovery. Here, we test whether the populations of affected species can recover naturally by evaluating the condition of juvenile corals across a broad spatial gradient. This dataset includes coral community data from the Mexican Caribbean, including measurements of coral density, recruitment timing (days), and associated predictor variables used in statistical models for coral density and diversity. The dataset also contains results from a Principal Coordinates Analysis (PCoA) based on coral density patterns and size structure of all juvenile and adult corals used for the analysis. These data were generated to support the hypotheses and analyses presented in the associated manuscript on "Recovery and future perspectives of juvenile scleractinian corals following a mass mortality event".
