This repository contains the data and supplementary material accompanying a study of visually guided instrumental learning in two captive Neotropical otters (Lontra longicaudis), Lucky (male) and Nanã (female), tested at Projeto Lontra, a conservation facility in Florianópolis, Brazil. The deposit includes: Underlying data: choice, latency, and interaction-time data used to generate the figures and statistical analyses reported in the manuscript. Supplementary Figures 1–5: photographs documenting the subjects, the enclosures and testing layout, the choice apparatus, and the preparation of the reward and non-reward test items. Supplementary Videos 1–3: footage of each otter's characteristic door-opening technique, and of one otter's sustained handling of the non-reward item.
