MGDB contains the marker genes from all GEO expression datasets and it is actualized monthly with new microarrays. Thus, the researchers can compare their microarrays with the public datasets. They can find whether the marker genes of their microarrays are marker genes in other microarrays from the database and expand their analysis to the rest of the public datasets.
