Pig genome-wide association studies uncover genes associated with litter traits

Litter traits are extremely important economic traits, which directly affect the economic efficiency of the pig industry. Increasing litter size and piglet uniformity are the main breeding goals in current pig production systems. Our study will also help to understanding the genetic basis of litter traits in Yorkshire and Landrace pigs and provide theoretical basis for selection and genetic improvement of litter traits in pigs
