资源简介:
This dataset supports the research entitled "Developing and Standardizing a Digital Measurement Tool of Visuospatial Working Memory for Children."
The primary aim of the study was to develop and evaluate the Orbital Visuospatial Working Memory Test (OVWMT), a digital tool designed to assess visuospatial working memory among children aged 4 to 8.
The data were collected from 46 children (25 boys, 21 girls) attending public schools in Türkiye. The dataset includes: demographic variables (age, gender, preschool attendance, medical history), Corsi Block Test (CBT) results (last block reached, total correct answers), and OVWMT scores (level reached, number of correct, incorrect, and incomplete responses, response durations).
Participants were administered both the Corsi Block Test (face-to-face) and the OVWMT (on a computer) in a school setting, following a standardized protocol approved by the MEF University Ethics Committee (Approval No: E-47749665-050.01.04-1944).
The working hypothesis was that OVWMT would show a positive correlation with the established Corsi Block Test and would reflect age-related improvements in visuospatial memory. The results supported these assumptions:
A moderate positive correlation was found between CBT and OVWMT scores (r = .40, p = .006),
Age significantly predicted OVWMT performance (p = .013),
Internal consistency of OVWMT was acceptable given the preliminary nature of the tool.
The dataset allows for replication of these findings and enables further exploration of the development of visuospatial working memory in early childhood. Researchers may use the data to examine psychometric properties, age-related cognitive differences, and test development strategies.
The dataset is fully anonymized and shared in accordance with institutional ethical standards and data protection protocols.
