This study focuses on the collection, analysis and interpretation of samples of biofilm and seawater collected from two different sites in Gulf of Guinea, West Africa. The biofilms, consisting of a community of bacteria, algae and other microorganisms, play a role in the development of Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion (MIC) of steel mooring components.
