Bird distance-based dataset

This data set was taken in the grass-lot and wood-lot on the Northern Essex campus on Oct , 2016 at 9:30 am eastern pacific time. Distance-base method was used as the sampling technique for observing birds in these two environments. A transect was randomly selected in both environments each about equidistance from the beginning of a linear path located in each environment. Data was recorded a total of 5 times on each of the two environmentally differentiating transects and time spent sampling on each point on the transect was about 5 minutes each. The time spent observing was constant so that there was no bias variations in the number and type of birds observed. After each 5 minute interval, the birds were then identified based on their physical features and bird calls and recorded as well as the Beaufort number, distance on the transect, approximate distance from the individual along with the amount spotted and in which environment. This data taken enabled us to compare the number of birds versus the environmental conditions present when they were spotted.
