Dataset Summary About this data: This feature layer displays the name, locations, and sponsoring organizations for the community gardens that have permits registered with the City of Rochester's Neighborhood Service Centers (a sub-unit of the Department of Neighborhood and Business Development). Please note that most of these gardens are not open during the evenings, and some are only open for visits on specific days. Gardens with visitation restrictions will have posted visiting hours at their location. Please honor their posted schedules. If individuals wish to garden on a city-owned lot, there is an application process to obtain a permit to help you transform a vacant lot into a beautiful garden. City: City (Rochester, NY) where the community gardens are located State: State (New York) where the community gardens are located Quadrant: Quadrant of the city of Rochester where the community gardens are located. NW = northwest; NE = northeast; SW = southwest; SE = southeast Organization: Organization that maintains the garden and registered the permit for the community garden with the City.
