Leptomonas pyrrhocoris strain:H10 Genome sequencing and assembly

Monoxenous (one host) trypanosomatid Leptomonas pyrrhocoris represents an essential outgroup for studying medically and veterinary important Leishmania spp. Moreover, sequencing genomes of monoxenous species provides a detailed picture of genome evolution in trypanosomatids, hitherto unavailable. The genome assembly of high quality was obtained for Leptomonas pyrrhocoris. In our study we used the genome of Leptomonas pyrrhocoris for delineating novel putative Leishmania virulence factors, as well as for inferring synteny and conducting an analysis of positive selection.
