Microplastic pollution had become one of the major causes of water pollution globally. Various study shown how environmental pollutants enter the body of living organisms, and food consumption identified as major pathway of the intake. The effects on living organisms at the molecular level become the biggest concern which still needs more research to understand which mechanism's pathways are affected. This project aims to uncover the effect of small size polystyrene microplastics (PS-MPs) to seawater model fish, Oryzias javanicus at their transcriptome level. We conducted the exposure test for seven days using 1 micrometer PS-MPs on the fish. After the test period, RNA sequencing of both control and PS-MPs exposed groups were performed using DNBSEQ-T7 (MGI Tech).
