Pathogenicity of F. pseudograminearum, F. graminearum, F. culmorum, and B. sorokiniana on cereal seedlings

The data were collected from glasshouse trials conducted at the Leslie Research Facility, Toowoomba, QLD in April–May 2016. The trials assessed crown rot severity and plant growth in five crop cultivars-barley, bread wheat, durum wheat, oat, and triticale-under different inoculation treatments. Each crop was inoculated with two strains of four pathogens (Fusarium pseudograminearum, F. culmorum, F. graminearum, Bipolaris sorokiniana) and included a non-inoculated control group.

Experimental conditions included a growth room schedule of 25°C/21°C (day/night), a 12-hour photoperiod, and a light intensity of 600 μmol m⁻² s⁻¹. Pots were thinned to five plants each and watered every 24 hours to field capacity to ensure consistent treatment conditions.

Data collected comprise visual ratings of brown discoloration on the subcrown internode and leaf sheaths, as well as measurements of shoot length and dry weight.
