Latin America: public opinion of governmental use of AI 2019, by country

During a 2019 survey, 15 percent of respondents from Brazil and Chile stated they believed that governments should not be allowed to use artificial intelligence (AI) and facial recognition to maintain order. Among the six surveyed countries, Brazil and Chile showed the highest the rejection level. On the other hand, the highest acceptance level was also reported in Brazil where 29 percent of respondents stated the government should be allowed to use AI and facial recognition as much as needed to maintain order.
