ASZ006 - As - Verbal subject-marking paradigms; Conversational questionnaires (Dialogues D 'A family photo album' and E 'A boy falls')

This dataset contains verbal subject-marking paradigms and dialogues elicited using the Conversational Questionnaire method (François 2019, 'A proposal for conversational questionnaires') from As with Hamid Mayor (born 1959), a native speaker of As. The dialogues were Dialogue D ('A family photo album') and Dialogue E ('A boy falls'). The session was recorded on 13 January 2020, in Asbaken village (Southwest Papua province, Indonesia). There is some background noise from the generator. This dataset relates to the British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship 'Synchronic and diachronic investigations in Raja Ampat-South Halmahera, a little-known subbranch of Austronesian' (PF19\100004); additional fieldwork funds were provided by a Moray Endowment Grant from the University of Edinburgh.
