To produce many small or few large seeds: size-dependent seed germination strategies of plants in a species-rich alpine meadow

A total of 75 flowering plants were investigated for seed mass and seed number per fruit. Seeds were germinated under different germination conditions. We assessed the germination response (the final germination proportion and germination synchrony) to environmental cues.
