This FAIRsharing record describes: The CIDEHUS (Interdisciplinary Center for History, Cultures, and Societies) is a non-profit research unit in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences. Its core discipline is History, and its scientific program focuses on studying the impact of diversity and changes in the South over the long term. The "South" it engages with is multifaceted: not only the South of Portugal but also this political formation in the context of Southern Europe and the geographies of the southern hemisphere with which it has had historical ties in the past, as well as the Mediterranean Sea.

CIDEHUS Publications publishes the collections Biblioteca - Estudos & Colóquios and Fontes e Inventários: Biblioteca - Estudos & Colóquios publishes original research works of high scientific rigor and degree of innovation; Fontes e Inventários publishes search tools from libraries, archives, or others, as well as sources and documentation of scientific interest. Preference is given to books that are directly related to the South and to the strategic project of CIDEHUS, with the selected works published in ebook format and made available in open access. The collections of CIDEHUS Publications follow the Code of Ethics approved by CIDEHUS' Board of Directors.

Each collection has an Editorial Board and a Scientific Committee: The Editorial Board of Biblioteca - Estudos & Colóquios is constituted by a director (appointed by the CIDEHUS Board of Directors), the coordinators of each research group, a technical assistant, and CIDEHUS Publications' editorial assistant; the Editorial Board of Fontes e Inventários is constituted by a director (appointed by the CIDEHUS Board of Directors), PhD integrated members of CIDEHUS, and CIDEHUS Publications' editorial assistant. The Scientific Committee of each collection that is proposed by the director of the Editorial Board to the CIDEHUS Board of Directors. These bodies decide on the adequacy of submissions at the beginning of the evaluation process and select the scientific reviewers.

The collections of CIDEHUS Publications are permanently open to submissions, from any author, whether or not they are members of CIDEHUS, accepting texts in Portuguese, English, Spanish, and French. If the submission is approved, the director will send the text to two national or international experts for evaluation in a double-blind peer review process, who will assess the scientific relevance of the publication in accordance with the peer review guidelines approved by CIDEHUS. Reviewers will either accept (with or without changes) or decline the publication of the submission. If necessary, the opinion of a third expert will be requested.
