We analyzed soil bacterial diversity in soil DNA samples from naturally and conventionally farmed apple orchards using pyrosequencing. These orchards were located in the Andosol area of Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture, which is the largest apple-producing area in Japan. Soil sampling was conducted from 2009 to 2011.
