mRNA profiles of primary mouse chondrocytes exposed to senescence stress (bleomycin, doxorubicin) or acute inflammation (interleukin-1 beta) were generated by mRNA sequencing. This study provides transcriptome landscape of senescent chondrocytes. To investigate the cellular senescence process of chondrocytes, primary culture of mouse articular chondrocytes underwent treatment with senescence-inducing stimuli—bleomycin (50 μg/ml for 24 h plus incubation in fresh medium for five days) or doxorubicin (50 nM for five days). Interleukin-1 beta treatment as an inflammation-induced acute stress model served as a control.
