Transcriptome sequencing of mouse skin tissue

The LCE gene cluster on chromosome 1q21 has been recognized as a susceptibility locus for psoriasis. So far, the role of LCE5A in the pathogenesis of psoriasis remains unclear. Here we report that LCE5A expression is significantly decreased in psoriatic lesions compared with healthy human skin. Ex vivo cell profiling reveals that keratinocyte (KC) with LCE5A expression deficiency become abnormally provoked, leading to the release of IL-23 and S100A9, accompanied by hyperproliferation and disordered differentiation.
