Minimum net requirements for a prospective sampling campaign according to the DIN 14757 calculation in ULC and LLC.

Net numbers are calculated based on depth-dependent fish communities (ULC four communities, LLC two communities) of the present sampling campaign. The calculated net numbers ensure accurate estimate of the NPUE of the dominant species and detection of 90% of species present with 50% probability within depth strata. Calculated net numbers for NPUE estimate using a power-based approach to ensure a power (β) of 0.8 and significance level α = 0.05 are shown.
