资源简介:
In this study, we conducted a health risk assessment of carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic heavy metals in well water from a rural village in Guangdong Province, China. Through a comprehensive monitoring and bacterial ecological analysis programme, we aimed to provide a scientific basis for ensuring the safety of local drinking water. Water samples collected from five wells in the area were analyzed for organoleptic properties, general chemistry, microbial ecology, and heavy metals using rapid on-site detection, ICP-MS, and 16S rRNA sequencing technology, respectively. Our findings revealed varying degrees of health risk associated with the well water, including low pH, contamination by E. coli spp.-Shigella spp., mild cyanobacterial contamination, and exceedances of arsenic, manganese, and iron in the dry season at one site. The health risk assessment model employed indicated low-to-moderate health risks associated with heavy metal exposure at each site. These results underscore the importance of regular monitoring and risk assessment by local governments to prevent potential public health crises.
