Moama Coral Cactus Control

Western Paroo Landcare will undertake this project with the sponsorship of South West NRM Ltd. This project will control a Coral Cactus infestation at an important upper catchment site to prevent further spread down the Paroo River. A combination of chemical and mechanical control methods will be used and the project outcome will be the rehabilitation of Coral Cactus infested vegetation and progress towards eradicating the weed at the site. The project works will indirectly assist properties downstream eradicate this weed from their grazing systems and help prevent downstream spread into the Ramsar listed Currawinya Lakes (Currawinya National Park).
