Longitudinal analysis of the colonic microbiome in Jinhua and Duroc Landrace Yorkshire pigs

The objective of this study was to examine the relationship between the meat quality of the longest dorsal muscle and the colonic microorganisms in pigs. Colonic contents were collected from Jinhua and Duroc Landrace Yorkshire pigs at three time points: day 60, day 90 and day 180, encompassing the full life cycle of the pig from weaning to marketing.
