to better understand the functional microorganisms that mediate the release of arsenic in situ, we sampled sediments of arsenic-contaminated aquifer from Yinchuan Plain , China and investigated the microbial communities structure and functions using 16s rRNA amplicon, metagenomic sequencing and incubation approach, with the aim of: (1) providing a background of indigenous microbial community in this area; (2) identifying the key arsenic metabolism microorganisms, functions and pathways; (3) revealing metabolism activity (growth rate) of microorganisms under high arsenic concentration at the genomic level without isolation.
