资源简介:
Epilepsy is a neurological condition characterised by a recurring predisposition to seizures. It affects around 50 million individuals globally. Currently, there is a lack of in-depth understanding on the molecular mechanisms involved in its development. This thesis attempts to unravel the pathophysiology underlying two different forms of epilepsy by integrating information from multiple biological layers such as the transcriptome and proteome. Several pathways of interest, including glutamate metabolism, were identified. These results may be further developed for clinical diagnosis purposes or novel therapeautic targets.
