The mosquito guts accommodate a complex microbial community, which has profound impact on mosquito life traits. Serratia sp. is one of the dominant residents in the gut community. As a part of efforts to characterize mosquito gut microbiome, we isolated and sequenced an isolate of Serratia sp. from the gut content of the mosquito Anopheles gambiae G3 strain.
