Dr. Winn was the field director for the excavation and affiliated with the University of Southern Mississippi. Dr. Shimabuku served as research advisor during the 1978 expedition. Shimabuku was a faculty member of the University of Southern Mississippi during the expedition though transitioned to Saint Mary's University by the time of this publication.
