资源简介:
This dataset includes a list of dates that correspond to anomalously-strong jet streaks over North America and the North Atlantic within the NCEP Climate Forecast System Reanalysis between 1979-2018 ("strong_jets_90per_24h_filter_comma.out"). The anomalously-strong jet streaks occur on dates that rank in the top 10% of all analysis times based on the areal coverage of 250-hPa wind speeds in excess of 100 m/s. The location of each jet streak on the dates indicated in the aforementioned file are described by a latitude-longitude centroid contained in "strong_jets_90per_centroids_24h_filter.out". The netCDF files in the dataset describe the results from two Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model simulations of an anomalously-strong jet streak on 22 December 2013. "wrfout_2013decjet.nc" describes a model simulation of the 2013 event that was conducted with full physics, whereas "wrfout_2013decjet_nolh_new.nc" describes a model simulation of the 2013 event conducted with no microphysical heating and with the cumulus parameterization turned off.
