Open Materials and Evidence-Mapping Package for "Revisiting Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs for AI-Supported Learning: A Conditional Need-Affordance Model of Motivation"

This Zenodo record contains the open materials and evidence-mapping package supporting the conceptual review “Revisiting Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs for AI-Supported Learning: A Conditional Need-Affordance Model of Motivation.” The package includes the documented search strategy, PRISMA-informed study-selection counts, characteristics of the 32-study evidence corpus, evidence-extraction and conceptual-mapping tables, criterion-level methodological appraisal using MMAT, JBI, and SANRA, and the interpretive codebook used to organize the theory-building synthesis. The evidence corpus comprises 32 screened sources, including 24 studies retained from database/register searching and 8 studies retained through citation searching and other methods. Foundational theoretical literature used for conceptual interpretation is treated separately from the PRISMA evidence corpus. The Maslow/SDT mappings represent review-level interpretive coding unless an original study explicitly measured the corresponding construct. Autonomy is retained as a complementary construct from Self-Determination Theory rather than incorporated into Maslow’s hierarchy. These materials are provided to enhance transparency, reproducibility, and traceability between the evidence base, methodological appraisal, conceptual synthesis, and the six propositions of the Conditional Need-Affordance Model.
