WGS of Campylobacter from genital tract of primates and ruminants in Eastern China. Campylobacter

The Campylobacter infection is one of the leading causes of reproductive failures in ruminants in developed countries. Although Campylobacter fetus subspecies fetus historically was the major cause of ovine abortion, C. jejuni is increasingly involved with sheep abortions in some parts of the world. However, limited knowledge exists on Campylobacter-associated abortions in China. In this study, we first isolated Campylobacter from genital tract samples of human, monkey, cow, and sheep hosts using multiplex PCR. Then, we analyzed the evolutionary relationship between Campylobacter strains from different hosts through phylogenetic trees.
