THE EFFICACY OF USING REALIA IN ESP INSTRUCTION FOR VOCATIONAL EDUCATION

This paper discusses the significance of incorporating authentic materials into English for Specific Purposes (ESP) classes within the context of vocational education. "Realia" refers to real-world objects utilized as instructional tools to bridge the gap between theoretical language and practical application. By introducing technical artifacts, the classroom is transformed into a simulated workplace. This study focuses on how such materials enhance technical vocabulary acquisition for agricultural machinery students. Furthermore, it explores the impact of conducting lessons in engineering workshops to introduce large-scale, stationary equipment—a form of "on-site" realia that fosters immersive learning.
