Granular Microbial Preparation (GMP) metagenome contains the community of hydrogen synthesizing microorganisms developed under an Indo-Ukraine collaborative project between "Institute of Microbiology and Virology, National Academy of Science of Ukraine" and "Department of Bio and Nano Technology, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, India" sponsored by "Department of Science and Technology (DST), India". This preparation ensured the high efficiency of hydrogen production by multi-component food waste. The metagenome sample for this hydrogen-producing consortium was isolated from Bortnychy Aeration Station, 1 Kolektorna street, Kyiv, 02660 (Ukraine). The developed GMP can destruct mixed solid vegetable waste up to 94% within seven days at a rate of 80 liters of hydrogen production per kg of dry weight.
