Frankliniella occidentalis is a global invasive and polyphagous pest, which have caused great economic losses to crops and horticulture. F. occidentalis and Tetranychus urticae performance a similar niche, and often occurrence and harm on the same host, resulting in fierce population competition. Moreover, F. occidentalis as a predator to prey on the eggs of T. urticae to provide nutrition.In order to investigate the food plasticity of F. occidentalis feeding. The transcriptome RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq) was carried out to analyze the differences of the first generation and the seventh generation of F. occidentalis adapted to differ group foods, including bean pod, healthy kidney bean plants and the induced kidney bean plants by T. urticae infection. These results will lay a foundation for further study the feeding and adaptation of F. occidentalis to different kinds of foods, and providing a theoretical basis for the integrated pest management.
