The Chinese Vegetation Biomass Distribution Product was developed using MODIS surface reflectance data and vegetation indices (MCD43A4, MCD12Q1), combined with above-ground biomass data provided by the Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA) program of the United States Department of Agriculture, and trained via random forest machine learning to produce biomass inversion results for various vegetation types. The dataset spans the period from 2001 to 2020, with an annual temporal resolution and a spatial resolution of 1 km. Spatiotemporal variation patterns can be extracted from this dataset through further statistical analysis. It can serve as foundational data for research fields including ecology, physical geography, and climate change, as well as parameters for studies such as surface process simulation, thus exhibiting broad application value.
